Holiday sparkle

Holiday season accessories.

My motto... the more sparkle the better. You can't have too much glitter. Ke$ha and I agree on that.

Party dresses under $100

I realized my last post about holiday party dresses was a little unrealistic. Let's be honest, I'm not buying $900 dresses. You probably aren't either.

Sooo here are some more affordable -- but just as cute -- alternatives, all from Asos. I'd also recommend checking out Zara and Topshop for affordable but well-made dresses.

Deck the halls

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it's time to start decorating for Christmas! I've collected a few pictures of my favorite DIY decoration ideas -- inexpensive, fun, and you can throw them out after the holidays are over to prevent lots of clutter.

Happy almost Thanksgiving

I found an apartment! For two months, anyway. So, off to New York I go. If you were wondering, my frantic apartment search is why I've been neglecting this wonderful blog. Back to regularly scheduled (side note, I don't have a schedule) posting.

If you're lucky, I'll do a blog of my family dinner tomorrow entitled: 18 bottles of wine, 12 cans of cranberry sauce, 4 types of stuffing, and a partridge in a pear tree. Umm

mwahh happy thanksgiving eve!

Current delights and displeasures

Things that are currently making me happy:

This blog post. Unbelievably hilarious.

Dreams of decorating my new bedroom in lots of gray, white, fur, and wood. Sort of a rustic, vintage, luxe vibe, with a little Town & Country thrown in for good measure. You get it, right? Right.

The definition of a man repeller. (Thanks for the revelation, Sara.)

This picture.

The fact that Thanksgiving is imminent.

Things that are currently making me unhappy:

My hair. I'm not sure my hairdresser understood the "ombre" color trend I was going for. (Reference below.) Now, boxed hair dye may be necessary. Stay tuned for updates...

Apartment hunting in New York. From Philadelphia. Not that easy.

The fact that Pinterest has been down for maintenance for the past half an hour. Devastating.

P.S. I need a better sign-off. "xo"? Come onnnn.

Rental decorating

My move to New York is getting closer... and no, I have not found an apartment yet! Ah!

However, I HAVE found plenty of ideas for decorating a room that I'll only have for a year or so. One of my favorite ideas is vinyl wall decals. They peel off cleanly (can anyone vouch for that?), so you can take them down when your lease ends.

First four decals are from Blik. Last decal is from 2modern.

Is it too early for Christmas music?

I know Christmas music isn't supposed to start until after Thanksgiving, but I'm feeling extra holiday-ish right now. Plus, I've noticed that after Thanksgiving I'm always too stressed about family gatherings and buying gifts to really enjoy the season! So, I'm going to start enjoying my Christmas music now.
