Completely in love with this packaging from Barker Gray. I'm also in love with the idea! Office snowball fights out of waste paper... amazing. More pictures here.

Changing seasons

Spiced orange iced tea at Terrain in October. Holiday cocktails at The Plaza in December.

My mom and I decided it would be a fun afternoon activity to stroll around The Plaza and pop in for afternoon tea. A quick note if you ever have the same idea -- afternoon tea is $45 a head. Obviously, we snuck out and made our way to the bar instead. Although, at $22 per cocktail, that wasn't much better. Oh well, it was The Plaza, and it was soo worth it.

Brass knuckles

My mom visited me on Sunday, and as luck would have it, the Hester Street Fair was holding their Big Social Holiday Market.

A-mazing.

So, down to the Lower East Side we went. This place was cool -- tons of jewelry, vintage clothes and furs, perfumes, home decorations, and lots of food. (P.S. Their Big Social is open through the 23rd. Go check it out!)

Besides a few, fun, Christmas presents, I also managed to acquire this awesome 2 finger ring from FancySexyMe, a jewelry line based out of Brooklyn.

Next on my list is the Meat Tenderizer.

No, I'm not kidding.

Happy holidays kids.

DIY Christmas

More DIY holiday decorations. I will never have time to do all of these -- I haven't even finished my Christmas cards yet -- but a girl can dream. If someone finds the time to do these, send me a picture, and I'll live vicariously through you.

Coffee sack stockings

Faux-capiz shell garland

P.S. This morning I stole pine cones from the Christmas decorations outside my apartment building. I thought they would look better on my fireplace mantle. I was right.

Keep calm, it's only Christmas

Oh, New York.

I really love you so far, but you house A LOT of people. I can't find the words to express how ridiculous Christmas shopping is here, but luckily Jenna already did. Must. Read.

Seriously.

Rose colored glasses

Rose martini? Yes, please.

Café con leche

Obviously, I need to work on my espresso design skills. I don't know what this is supposed to be, but it tastes delicious.

How come it doesn't look like this?

Damn.

Tie it with a bow

recycled gift wrap
wax paper pom pom
recycled wrapping
gift tag
recycled magazine bow
glitter twine

Just a few ideas for your wrapping this holiday season! I'm stockpiling brown paper bags as we speak.

Wired

How cool are these?! A bonus -- the English translation of the page is quite amusing.

I think the "Fork and Cream Sauce" cable tie is still available, but I'm not positive about the leaves.

This would be a great gift idea for the tech person on your list.

The days go slow, but the years go fast

Here's a DIY project that would be a great present for the someone during the holidays. It's a calendar journal, where you write one thing down each day, every year. Over the years you can look back at what you've done on that day in the past. Details aren't necessary -- just a few, simple words about your day!
